She immediately offered to send me a new cover at no charge. If they upgrade the cover, I would highly recommend this product. She went on to say that I was not the first customer to call about the flimsy material on the cover. I'm awaiting the cover to get here - will probably be a while since we just got over 36 inches of snow.
She also mentioned that should I desire, I can purchase an upgraded canvas cover, normally 49.95 for 19.95. While I know the new cover will also at some point rip, I believe that this company cares about its customers. Easy to put together. Nancy's prompt concern and attention tells me that. However, I made a call to the customer service number (that took a couple time because nobody picked up for the "customer service" prompt). Arrived prior to their estimate.
The only problem is after having up for one week and getting a little snow, I wiped the top off with my hand to clear the snow and found an 8 inch rip. A nice lady by the name of Nancy listened to my complaint and, much to my surprise, said "I'm sorry you've having a problem". I would think that if the company knew there was a problem with the cover material that they would automatically upgrade the cover material. Now if the snow would melt a little I could get to my firewood and have a fire. Price was right. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.
I think we'd all pay a little more for a quality product.
Overall, the rack is very nice. I couldn't believe how easy it was to rip this cover. It's like paper, only more fragile. Because the legs are so close together from front to back, this can become very top-heavy and fall over (yes I am speaking from experience). The rack itself is very nice, sturdy and perfect for what I needed. The cover that comes with it, isn't worth the time. I would also recommend not stacking your firewood any higher than the 4 feet that the sides can support.
The wood rack is very nice but the cover ripped the first time putting it on. It's a temporary fix til you find a better quality cover but the rack is good and does what it's supposed to do.hold lots of wood.
I reckon the colder temperatures made the plastic cover brittle because that thing was ripped and shredded afterwards. If you're considering this product, do NOT think that the inclusion of a cover is the deal maker as a plastic garbage bag would outlast the crappy cover. Nothing fancy but sturdy (on concrete) and I was happy. Despite Lowes' website's claim of having this product available by the end of October, it did not come to pass and the local store informed me that is was on backorder from the manufacturer until December. I came here, found this, ordered it and before the week was out, we received it. At least until recently when we had some strong winds come through the area.
It is badly made, the straps tear of if you lightly tie them (the first I tried to tightly tie and it ripped right off). Sturdy and have not had any issues.the cover though is awful. That is why I am on amazon.looking for a (better) replacement cover.so I thought I'd post the review.Just be forewarned.the cover is a garbage.you would be best served buying a tarp with eyeholes to tie onto the rack to protect the wood from snow/rain as you buy this rack itself. The rack is very good. I have it up on my back deck and put a half cord on it easily. Right now we have some heavy winds in the northeast and it is shredding apart the tarp.
